Geometry Dash 2.2: check the download version

A tutorial can say “2.2” while a later maintenance announcement uses a more specific number such as 2.209. The developer's 2.209 announcement is the source for that release; our update guide explains it in context. Check the version shown by your own installed game before deciding that a tutorial requires a different download.

Also identify the app itself. Geometry Dash, Lite, World, SubZero and Meltdown have separate store listings and update histories. A version number on one of the free apps does not establish the build number or feature set of the paid main game.

Use the store for a normal installation or update

  1. Choose your device through the official download directory.
  2. Confirm the exact app title and RobTop publisher.
  3. If you own the game on that store, use the purchasing account.
  4. Install or update through the store, then wait for the operation to finish.
  5. Open the game, check its version and test the feature you came for.

The Steam listing provides the desktop game and current purchase information. Store releases and availability should be checked on the relevant platform. This page does not offer an archived installer or promise a store-supported downgrade to an exact historical version.

If an old guide or mod asks for an older version

Write down the feature or compatibility problem rather than starting with a rollback. Check whether the guide has newer instructions and whether the project's current release supports your installed game. Our Geode compatibility guide explains why a targeted crash fix is not the same as universal mod support.

Protect your save before changing installations. RobTop's account FAQ explains Save and Load and describes common cloud-save errors. Confirm a successful save instead of assuming that logging in alone created a backup. Avoid replacing a working installation until you have a documented recovery path and a clear reason for the change.

If your real goal is a free first try rather than an exact old build, compare the official free options. They provide a legitimate starting point without treating the main game's paid license as free.
